What does Plant in a Box do?
Plant in a Box is a plant styling studio in Mumbai, founded by Rashi Jain in 2024. It designs and installs indoor green spaces, balcony and terrace gardens, green installations, miniature landscapes and terrariums, and creates bespoke plant bouquets and gifts, using curated, easy-care plants.
Which areas of Mumbai do you work in?
Plant in a Box is based in Mumbai and has completed projects in South Mumbai, Bandra-Juhu, Andheri West and other parts of the city, including residences such as Imperial Towers and Three Sixty West. For spaces outside Mumbai, send a message and we will tell you what is possible.
Can you design for a space with low light?
Yes. Plants are chosen for the light a space actually gets. For a low-light lift lobby we used a large rhapis palm, and for a residential society landscape on Carmichael Road we built layered clusters from plants suited to those conditions.
Can you use the planters I already have?
Yes. In one South Mumbai apartment the client already owned beautiful ceramic planters, so we chose plants to suit each one. We can also source planters that complement your flooring and furniture.

Are your plants difficult to look after?
No. Plant in a Box focuses on aesthetically curated, easy-care plants chosen to suit your light and routine. Every plant gift comes with an easy-care instruction card.
Do you offer plant maintenance?
Yes. Plant care and maintenance is one of our services, so the plants we install stay healthy after the project is finished. Mention it when you share your project and we will include it in the plan.
What is the best indoor plant for a beginner in Mumbai?
ZZ plant, snake plant and pothos (money plant) are forgiving choices for Mumbai homes. They cope with lower light and tolerate missed waterings. In Mumbai's humidity, overwatering is the most common mistake, so let the top few centimetres of soil dry out before watering again.

Can a plant gift be personalised?
Yes. Gifts can include a handwritten message tag, miniature figurines, stones and pebbles, or a tea light. For a 30th anniversary, for example, a miniature couple was placed at the centre of the living landscape.
Do you make plant gifts for groups, clubs or companies?
Yes. Plant in a Box creates appreciation and festive gifts for groups, clubs and teams. Share the quantity, the occasion and the date, and we will plan the gifts with you.

How does a project start?

How much does plant styling cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the space and the plants and planters chosen. Share photos and a short brief and we will suggest a direction and an estimate.
