Our first landscape: greenery designed around Ganesh ji

Our first landscape project, for a residential society on Carmichael Road: layered plant clusters that step down around a Ganpati idol, chosen to thrive in a low-light setting.

Sandstone Ganpati idol framed by layered plants including palms, aglaonema, dracaena, snake plant and ZZ plant, with gravel, laterite rocks and warm uplighting, in a residential society on Carmichael Road, Mumbai

The brief

The space had a beautiful architectural setting but limited natural light. The greenery needed to feel abundant and layered, suit the conditions, and frame the Ganpati idol without taking attention away from it.

Our approach

Clusters, not a carpet of plants

Instead of simply filling the area with plants, we created structured clusters around Ganesh ji, using different heights, textures and foliage forms to build depth.

A natural focal point

The central cluster frames Ganesh ji as the focal point, while the surrounding greenery gradually steps down and spreads across the space.

Grounded with stone

Stones, rocks and textured foliage add another layer, creating a more natural and grounded landscape.

Plants in this project

  • Snake plant
  • ZZ plant
  • Aglaonema
  • Dracaena
  • Palms

The result

A space designed around light, balance and devotion.

“With careful plant selection and placement, the greenery complements the space without taking away from its centrepiece.”
