The brief
The balcony already had something beautiful: an open view of the sea, plenty of natural light and a feeling of openness. The question was how to add lush greenery without taking any of that away.
Our approach
Clusters, not rows
Instead of lining the whole balcony with plants, we gathered the greenery into three intentional clusters. Each one has its own personality, and together they tell one cohesive green story across the space.
Three different moods
The first cluster is a lush, layered corner with different heights, textures and leaf forms. The second is sculptural, with a branching plant as the focal point surrounded by softer foliage. The third brings height and movement, pairing a tall statement plant with lower and cascading greenery.
Designed around the view
Throughout the design we kept coming back to the sea. By playing carefully with plant placement and height, we created pockets of greenery and privacy while the view stays open and the balcony stays light and airy.
Plants in this project

- Heliconia
- Philodendron
The result
A balcony where the plants create the frame and the sea becomes the picture.
“When you have a view like this, the plants shouldn't compete with it. They create the frame, and the sea becomes the picture.”
