The brief
The client wanted to spend time on her balcony and feel immersed in nature, even though the home sits high above the city. Every project at Plant in a Box starts with one question: how do we make this space feel like home?
Our approach
A rock garden in one corner
In one corner of the balcony we created a naturalistic rock garden: a cluster of ten carefully selected plants with varying heights, textures and shades of green. Rocks and a weathered piece of driftwood complete it, so the corner feels like discovering a quiet green pocket in nature.
A living bouquet in the other
In the opposite corner, an ethnic urli planter, chosen for its character, holds a dwarf pink champa rising above trailing spider plant and lush filler plants. The fillers hide the soil completely, which gives the planter a seamless, abundant look.
Greenery that follows you inside
A braided pachira welcomes you into the living room. A monstera brings tropical elegance to the master bedroom, and indoor plants tucked into the bookshelves let the green flow through everyday life. A tall, dark-green rubber plant anchors the study, and a kitchen trio of aloe vera, basil and mint adds freshness you can cook with.

The result
What began as a balcony makeover became a home that feels connected to nature at every step.
“Great plant design isn't about filling spaces with plants. It's about creating moments, emotions and experiences that people connect with.”
