Services

Seven ways we bring nature indoors, from balcony gardens and society landscapes to living gifts and ongoing care. Every service starts with the light your space actually gets.

What each service includes

Balcony and terrace gardens

We design and install balcony and terrace gardens for Mumbai homes, from compact city balconies to sea-facing terraces on high floors. Plants are grouped into intentional clusters with varied heights and textures, so you get lushness and privacy without losing the view.

  • Layered plant clusters planned around your view and sightlines
  • Naturalistic rock gardens with stone, rocks and driftwood
  • Living partitions for privacy between balconies
  • Herb gardens in terracotta for everyday cooking
  • Planters chosen to suit your flooring and architecture

Good for: High-rise balconies, sea-facing terraces, small city balconies

Indoor plant styling

Indoor plant styling brings curated, easy-care plants into living rooms, bedrooms, studies, kitchens and bathrooms. We read the light in each room first, then choose plants and planters that suit it, so the greenery looks right on day one and stays healthy after.

  • Statement plants such as braided pachira, rubber plant and monstera
  • Plants for low-light rooms, entrances and lobbies
  • Styling with the planters you already own, or sourcing new ones
  • Small moments of green for shelves, desks and bathrooms

Good for: Apartments, villas, home offices, rental homes

Landscaping

We design and install landscapes for residential societies, building entrances and shared spaces. Our first landscape, for a residential society on Carmichael Road, built structured clusters of plants with different heights, textures and foliage forms that step down around a Ganpati idol, grounded with stones, rocks and gravel, and planted with species chosen for a low-light setting.

  • Landscape design for societies, entrances and common areas
  • Layered plant clusters with stone, rock and gravel
  • Plant palettes chosen for the light, including low-light spaces
  • Focal points such as an idol or sculpture, framed with greenery
  • Installation, with plant care and maintenance available

Good for: Residential societies, building entrances and lobbies, villas, temple and puja areas

Green installations

For workspaces, lobbies, hospitality spaces and festive settings, we build layered plant installations that respect the architecture and the light, so the greenery frames a space instead of crowding it.

  • Plant compositions for receptions, lobbies and common areas
  • Low-light plant palettes for interior spaces
  • Festive installations
  • Stone, rock and natural material detailing

Good for: Offices, building lobbies, cafes, events

Miniature landscapes and terrariums

Miniature landscapes and bespoke terrariums are small gardens composed in a single planter or glass vessel. We layer foliage, moss, pebbles and stones, and can add figurines or a tea light to turn each one into a small story.

  • Miniature landscapes in ceramic and glazed planters
  • Bespoke terrariums
  • Personal details such as figurines, stones and tea lights
  • Care instructions with every piece

Good for: Desks, coffee tables, gifts, festive decor

Plant bouquets and bespoke gifting

Plant bouquets are living gifts: several plants arranged together in one planter, finished with a handwritten message and an easy-care instruction card. We make them for anniversaries, birthdays, festivals and thank-yous, and for clubs and teams.

  • Plant bouquets and living landscapes in a planter
  • Handwritten message tags
  • Easy-care instruction cards
  • Gifts for groups, clubs and teams

Good for: Diwali, anniversaries, birthdays, appreciation and corporate gifts

Plant care and maintenance

Plants are living things, and Mumbai seasons are demanding on them. We offer plant care and maintenance after installation, and share practical care advice so your green spaces stay healthy through summer heat and the monsoon.

  • Plant health checks and maintenance
  • Pruning, cleaning and replacing tired plants
  • Seasonal advice for summer and the monsoon
  • Care guidance for every plant we supply

Good for: Homes and spaces we have styled, and existing gardens

How a project comes together

The same four steps guide a single planter and a whole home.

  1. Listen

Understand the space and how you want to feel in it

Every project begins with one question: how do we make this space feel like home? We look at the light, the view, the floor and the way you use the space.

  2. Curate

Choose plants and planters that belong

We pick plants for the light the space actually gets, and planters that complement the architecture instead of competing with it.

  3. Style

Compose with height, texture and tone

Plants are composed into clusters with a clear focal point, soft fillers and something that trails, so the space feels lush without feeling crowded.

  4. Care

    Keep it thriving

Easy-care plant choices, care instructions and maintenance support keep the greenery healthy long after the install.

Questions about our services

What does Plant in a Box do?

Plant in a Box is a plant styling studio in Mumbai, founded by Rashi Jain in 2024. It designs and installs indoor green spaces, balcony and terrace gardens, green installations, miniature landscapes and terrariums, and creates bespoke plant bouquets and gifts, using curated, easy-care plants.

Which areas of Mumbai do you work in?

Plant in a Box is based in Mumbai and has completed projects in South Mumbai, Bandra-Juhu, Andheri West and other parts of the city, including residences such as Imperial Towers and Three Sixty West. For spaces outside Mumbai, send a message and we will tell you what is possible.

Can you design for a space with low light?

Yes. Plants are chosen for the light a space actually gets. For a low-light lift lobby we used a large rhapis palm, and for a residential society landscape on Carmichael Road we built layered clusters from plants suited to those conditions.

Can you use the planters I already have?

Yes. In one South Mumbai apartment the client already owned beautiful ceramic planters, so we chose plants to suit each one. We can also source planters that complement your flooring and furniture.

How does a project start?

Send a message on WhatsApp with a few photos of the space and a line about what you have in mind. We will talk about the light, the view and how you want the space to feel, and take it from there.

How much does plant styling cost?

Pricing depends on the size of the space and the plants and planters chosen. Share photos and a short brief and we will suggest a direction and an estimate.

Have a corner that needs some green?

Send a few photos of your space. We will talk about the light, the view and how you want it to feel, and suggest a direction.
